For the first time ever, WWE hosted such a big show of Wrestlemania caliber outside the United States (US). The Greatest Royal Rumble was finally held in Saudi Arabia with a mouth-watering match card.
Interestingly, there were seven championship matches in combine alongside the 50-superstar battle royal match as the headliner.
Well, here the results from the show hosted at the King Abdullah City Sports Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Cruiserweight Championship Match –
Cedric Alexander versus Kalisto:
Kalisto pulled off an amazing stunt by hitting a springboard flipping seated senton on the floor to take the control. Thereafter, he went for the Salida Del Sol but got an elbow from Alexander.
However, this move was countered, once again by Alexander for a Lumber check to retain his title.
Raw Tag Team Championship Match –
Sheamus and Cesaro verus The Revival or Bray Wyatt and Matt Hardy:
Woken Matt Hardy was punished by the two members of the Bar for the most part of the time.
Sheamus was on the verge of a win by hitting a White Noise but failed. Bray Wyatt received a much-deserved tag and hit with the wheelbarrow Sister Abigail – to become the WWE Raw tag team.
SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match –
The Bludgeon Brothers against The Usos:
As expected, the reigning champs dominated the entire match. In the end of the matchup, the Bludgeons were taken down by top rope moves. But, they were quick to get back in the contest and hit the full Nelson Powerbomb — to retain their titles at Greatest Royal Rumble.
Ladder Match For Intercontinental Championship –
Seth Rollins vs. The Miz vs. Finn Balor vs. Samoa Joe:
The Miz tried hard to win the contest and even hit a Skull Crushing Finale to Joe on the ladder but he digested a Coup De Grace on a ladder to get out of the match.
In the end, it was Balor and Joe who went for a tug of war with the title hanging above the ring. Balor capitalized by knocking the ladder over but Rollins appeared suddenly to snatch the title, suddenly to remain the IC champion.
United States Championship Match –
Jeff Hardy vs. Jinder Mahal:
Jeff Hardy wanted to hit Jinder Mahal with the Twist of Fate which was encountered by a neck breaker by Mahal. While Jeff was going for Whisper in Wind, Jinder botched a move making the way for Jeff to hit with a Twist of Fate following with a Swanton Bomb to retain.
Casket Match – The Undertaker vs. Rusev:
The Undertaker was in form control of the match by hitting the Old School and Guillotine Legdrop.
After ducking a clothesline, he delivered a chokeslam and threw Rusev into the casket. Aiden English tried to interfere but ate a chokeslam and Tombstone Piledriver. Undertaker locked both Rusev and English inside the Casket to win the match at Greatest Royal Rumble.
Triple H vs. John Cena:
Triple H taunted Cena with his own five knuckle shuffle move and hit a powerbomb to get the early upper hand. But, Cena came right back to lock in the AA. It was countered with a crossface lock by The Game. But, Cena hit an AA coming out of it. After sending Triple H into the turnbuckle, he hit another AA to his opponent to pick up the win.
WWE Championship Match-
AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura:
Styles was in control of the match by hitting his snapmare-diving clothesline combos. He was setting Nakamura up for a Phenomenal Forearm when the latter one hit Styles with a low blow as the referee was not looking at.
Afterward, the fight broke outside the ring and the referee counted them both out. Styles grabbed a chair and smashed it on Nakamura’s back to end the segment.
Steel Cage Match For Universal Championship –
Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns:
Lesnar took the early advantage by hitting four German Suplexes and two F-5s to Reigns. But, the Big Dog kicked out of that and hit a couple of Superman punches and three spears but still remained unable to get the pinfall.
Reigns grabbed the chair thrown into the ring by Heyman and smashed it on Lesnar before spearing Lesnar through the wall of Steel Cage. But, Lesnar’s body touched the mat first which is why he still retained the Universal Championship.
