The mystery storyline featuring Kurt Angle is under-delivered, till date. We expected some big fireworks around the angle over names like Stephanie McMahon, Triple H or even former TNA owner; Dixie Carter might turn out to be the one who was threatening the Raw GM for a long time. It didn’t get addressed while the revelation was made.
This angle was the first one since coming back to the WWE as part of the Hall of Fame 2017 ceremony. It was kicked off with some backstage segments where we got to know he was receiving threats from an unknown person back then that could ruin his life. The Raw commentator, Corey Graves has hinted his status as the Raw General Manager might be in jeopardy, as well.
Later, we have learned that back in his college days, he dated a young lady who gave birth to a son once they parted ways. Now, he came to know that the boy has eventually become a WWE superstar. Jason Jordan was disclosed as Kurt Angle’s son, at that night. It was a move from the creative to establish Jordan as a singles competitor.
However, the move failed since the fans did not indulge in it, for once. As a result, they even started booing Jordan at times which is harmful to his character. He was supposed to get an Intercontinental Championship match against The Miz at Summerslam, but that got called off due to negative reactions.
Now the question is whether Jason Jordan is the right choice to fit into the shoes of the former Olympic Gold medalist, Kurt Angle. Recently, Angle joined Miami Herald while promoting the WWE 2K18 video game and touched on the topic of what’s holding his on-screen son back from going to the next level.
According to him, it’s pure shyness that’s the main reason behind this. However, someday he expects him to be a world champion overcoming all the odds. Check out the statements, here:
