We are just over with the 2018 Royal Rumble PPV with a one-of-a-kind experience where for the first time ever, we have seen not one but two Rumble matches for both men and women’s division.
With this night, the Road to Wrestlemania has also begun officially that will culminate on April 8th at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
When it comes to the dual-brand PPVs of the company, WWE always lets us know about these, much earlier than the actual date.
This helps us to start selling the tickets and travel packages that also helps the host city to get more viewers on the PPV occasion. This time around, too, there’s no exception as the details of the 2019 Royal Rumble is out.
According to the confirmations of the company’s official website, Phoenix, Arizona is going to be the city to host the first PPV of 2019. The Chase Field arena will be the organizer with three more events scheduled to take place during that span. January 27th will mark the 32nd annual Royal Rumble event.
John Saboor, WWE executive vice president of special events told the following to AZCentral.com regarding this announcement:
“We have an incredibly rich history and heritage of presenting WWE events in the Valley of the Sun. In many respects, this serves as an exciting opportunity to work with longstanding and new partners in Phoenix to create four nights of memories.”
Usually, the host venue gets the NXT Takeover event prior to the PPV following with the Monday Night Raw and Smackdown Live on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.
However, this time around the venues will be shifted. Only, the Rumble will take place at the Chase Field whereas the other shows will be hosted by the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona.
It is a good marketing strategy by the WWE team since they can sell out a stadium of 40000 capacity on the Royal Rumble PPV night. This will be first-time ever that this prestigious battle royal will take place in a Baseball stadium.
On the other hand, the Raw, Smackdown and NXT shows are expected to get a crowd of 15000.
Saboor continued to talk about the marketing strategy of the WWE around one of the most exciting nights of the entire year:
“What’s exciting about hosting four consecutive nights … in downtown Phoenix is that the city will serve as an important point of appeal for the WWE universe. It’s another reason for our fans to descend early, stay late and spend more. It’s a very powerful synergy that’s created by the presentation of four consecutive nights.”
