During last night’s Money in the Bank 2022, Theory has become the 2022 Men’s Money in the Bank winner. He defeated seven opponents in Drew McIntyre, Omos, Riddle, Sami Zayn, Seth Rollins, Sheamus, and Madcap Moss to earn an opportunity that he could use for the WWE World Championship at a time and place of his choosing.
Earlier in the Money In The Bank 2022 event, Theory lost the United States Championship to Bobby Lashley but he got right back into the top by the end of the night. Before the main event of the night started, WWE Official Adam Pearce came out and announced that Theory was added to the match as the final and eighth participant.
Then after winning the Money In The Bank 2022 contract, Theory cut a promo celebrating the biggest win of his career. He called out WWE Legend John Cena, saying his time is now and he’s the best in the ring. Wrestling Inc. Managing Editor Nick Hausman was in attendance at the show and he shared a video of the promo session on social media alongside some other fans in attendance.

Theory met John Cena during Money in the Bank 2022 go-home Raw episode
For weeks leading to Money in the Bank 2022, Theory has been going back and forth with John Cena, teasing a matchup in the near future. The two even had a confrontation on the June 27 episode of Raw where Cena returned to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his WWE career. The match was likely going down at Summerslam but the latest reports suggest that it’s been postponed to Wrestlemania 39.
While speaking on Out of Character Podcast with Ryan Satin, Theory discussed his future in WWE and whether he considers himself a future face of the company like Cena with the following comments,
“I think so just because, I mean, I don’t know what that level is because I’m on my way up. I know myself and I know my work ethic and I plan to only get better and I just want to give this everything that I’ve got.”
WWE Officials see immense potential in the young superstar and the Money in the Bank 2022 ladder match win only points out their trust in him. With this win, it’s almost guaranteed that we will be getting a new world champion in Theory.
