It was a mega night for the WWE Universe in the United Kingdom in the form of the Money in the Bank 2023 premium live event, last evening. Apart from multiple returns and championship matches, the two major attractions, the ladder matches were also on the card, allowing two stars from the men’s and women’s rosters to secure future championship opportunities.

As seen in the Men’s Money in the Bank 2023 Ladder Match, Damian Priest defeated LA Knight, Logan Paul, Ricochet, Shinsuke Nakamura, Santos Escobar, and Butch to win a future world championship match opportunity. With the contract in his hand, he can challenge either for the World Heavyweight Championship held by Seth Rollins or for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship held by Roman Reigns.

The finish of the match saw Knight climbing the ladder but Priest joined him at the top. Priest then planted Knight into the mat from the ladder with a powerbomb. Priest then re-climbed the ladder and unhooked the briefcase to win the Money in the Bank 2023 contract. Per WWE’s rulebook, he can also go after for the mid-card title, something we have seen, last year.

Heading into the match, LA Knight was the betting favorite and as well as the fan-favorite to win the Money in the Bank 2023 contract. As captured in fan videos, the Smackdown star got wild reception from the crowd, as well.

In contrast, the London fans booed Logan Paul’s every move. Even when he delivered some impressive stunts, they chanted, “You still suck.” It appears that the celebrity YouTuber is still able to garner nature heel heat from the fans and especially with the rowdy ones over the UK.

Ultimately, Damian Priest picked up the win at Money in the Bank 2023 and that win fell in line with Sean Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall. The veteran wrestling journo noted that people were very high on Damian Priest going into the match. The context changed around him, especially after his performance against Seth Rollins in the main event of this week’s UK tour,

“WWE sources also spoke very highly of Damian Priest competing at a main event level against Seth Rollins on this UK tour.”
