Proving the insider reports true from BWE, a Money in the Bank 2023 ladder match spot will indeed be up for grabs on next week’s episode of Smackdown. The coveted spot has been declared to be handed by the 2019 Women’s MITB ladder match winner Bayley to a newbie from the blue brand roster.
During this week’s Smackdown, Bayley’s DAMAGE CTRL buddy IYO SKY competed in a singles contest against Zelina Vega with Bayley standing at ringside to provide interference for SKY. Eventually, plans backfired since a miscommunication allowed Vega to pin SKY and emerge victorious in the match. Tensions could also be spotted between SKY and Bayley after the match.

A week ago, Bayley also interfered in Shotzi’s match with SKY to help the latter qualify for the Money in the Bank 2023 ladder match. As the same plan backfired, this week, Shotzi later confronted Bayley and claimed that if it wasn’t for her then SKY would have never qualified in the first place.

A challenge was also laid out by Shotzi as she wanted to punch her ticket to Money in the Bank 2023. Next week, she wanted Bayley in a one-on-one situation with Bayley’s already captured spot on the line. Interestingly, Bayley never accepted the challenge but it was SKY who happily declared that “She accepts!”
Apart from this huge Money in the Bank 2023 qualifying match, the NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn will take on WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler in a title unification match. The tag champs were called on the main roster during the 2023 edition of Draft after which the creative planned the match.
