WWE News: Naomi Seriously Injured on Smackdown Live 1

Naomi has been an integral part of the Smackdown women’s division from the beginning of this year. With a new GLOW gimmick attached to her, she had a re-debut in the WWE following the brand split in 2016.

That was taken to new heights after she got dragged in the championship picture during the Wrestlemania season. This year, the show of shows was hosted by her hometown of Orlando, Florida.

It led her to be the champion of the blue brand not once but twice. With the championship in hand, she had her Wrestlemania moment, this year. Following the biggest event of the year, she had a dominant title run that continued till Summerslam 2017 where she lost the title to Natalya.

For the better part of the year, she had worked restlessly that led her to an injury just Wrestlemania 33. Apparently, she might be dealing with another one after the last bygone edition of Smackdown Live. She was part of a six-woman tag team match teaming up with Charlotte Flair and Natalya to take on against the team of Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, and Sarah Logan.

The newly emerging superstars from NXT have taken over the division by targeting the Smackdown locker room and hence the prominent names were supposed to seek retribution. However, Natalya left the match making the babyface team outnumbered that led to yet another attack.

Naomi fell victim to it, as she was sent straight to the steel steps present by the ringside area. As per updates from WWE.com, this caused in a separated shoulder for the 2-time women’s champion. It will force her to take some time off from Smackdown Live.

Becky Lynch is the first one who was taken off WWE TV, last week with a kayfabe injury for movie filming purpose. Naomi might be the other addition to the list. After working hard for the entire year, she might need a time-off to recuperate just-in-time for the Wrestlemania season, next year.

Hence, she would be on a hiatus from now onwards. The NXT superstars seemed quite happy with their actions, however, as reflected on their Twitter handle.
