A major injury scare broke put around AJ Styles following the Madison Square Garden show on March 16th.
On that night, he was supposed to team up with Shinsuke Nakamura to take on against the team of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Quite interestingly, WWE played an angle where the heels went right after the champion to deliver an assault to take him out of the competition.
With Styles not competing on a stacked match card like the MSG house show, the speculations were running rampant about a potential injury.
This even got fired up after the reports were brought out by Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter which suggested the WWE Champion was indeed dealing from an injury and that was not just a ‘work’ at the MSG show, (quotes courtesy stillrealtous.com)
“I don’t even know the injury. I know that the injury in the Garden, the injury they did a knee injury angle so that may mean it’s a knee injury. The severity of it, I mean I just think it’s interesting how the lengths that they’ve gone to keep it quiet.”

The veteran wrestling journalist provided us with some updates stating AJ Styles was scheduled for evaluation on this past Monday Night in Dallas, Texas. It was the only update with no fallouts received from the source since the WWE officials maintained total silence about the situation.
However, to assure the fans, the man in-concern opened up on the latest interview with the Catch-Newz. He was asked to note on the potential rumours those are suggesting that he might be unable to compete at Wrestlemania 34.
According to his statements, even if he has his legs cut off from his body, he will be competing at ‘Mania. Here were his comments,
“If my leg got cut off, I’d find a way to make it to WrestleMania. So I think just to answer that question, I will be wrestling Shinsuke Nakamura at WrestleMania. Don’t worry about it. It’ll be fine.”
It certainly points out the fact that the dream match between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura is still on at the biggest event of the year. The Phenomenal One has been kept out of action as per precautionary steps. This is why he was not seen wrestling ever since the Fastlane PPV is over.
The short hiatus of three weeks is likely to be enough time to be recuperated from the concussion.
