AJ Styles debuted in the WWE back in 2016 Royal Rumble. He literally owned this place ever since this happened. WWE needed a contemporary name like Roman Reigns from WWE Raw who could carry the Smackdown Live brand. They have found a suitable name in the import from Japan. The rest of the story is history.

It was the rightmost choice that WWE could take at that point. AJ Styles was the most valuable draft picks for Smackdown Live. The brand extension draft came back splitting the red and blue brand like previous days. It was the Phenomenal One who converted the Tuesday Night show into his own house. He carried the load of the blue brand since then.

AJ Styles has now wrestled in 30 consecutive PPV events since his debut in the WWE, as per recently released stats in SportsKeeda.com. Starting from Royal Rumble 2016 appearance, he competed in a first singles match at Fastlane 2016 against Chris Jericho. That continued all the way until Summerslam 2017 where he competed in a WWE Championship match. He retained the title via disqualification.

Previously, Kevin Owens was the one to hold the PPV appearance record which counted 29. It includes only the main show card and no kick-off show appearances. KO has managed to establish himself as the prizefighter of the company. But AJ Styles is a league of his own whom WWE can’t go without for even one single event. He deserved this accolade more than anybody.
