WWE News: Another Change Made To The SmackDown Women’s Championship Match
Apr 1, 2017 at 2:13 PM
The last episode of SmackDown Live announced that we will witness a six-pack challenge for the women’s championship match at Wrestlemania. The champion Alexa Bliss will defend the title against five other women; that are Becky Lynch, Mickie James, Carmella, Natalya, and Naomi.
While this was great news for the WWE fans, sooner it was revealed that the exciting match was dragged to the two-hour long kick-off show. Most of the fans were unhappy with the listing that was published on the WWE.com and expressed their negative remarks with it. They wanted the match should not be excluded from the main show.
A trend with the #GiveSDWomenAChance started on twitter to build more support around this. The creative team noticed this and pushed it back on the almost five-hour long main show of Wrestlemania. Becky Lynch let the fans knew her gratitude to get the opportunity to perform in front of the live audience of 70,000 people.
You spoke up. You’re awesome. Thank you . #WrestleMania

The news was first broken by cagesideseats.com and received great appreciation from the WWE universe. In a time when WWE is constantly pushing the women’s wrestling, it would be bad for their PR to keep a big match like it away from the main show.
It is to be noted that it’s not any random match and will determine the title holder for the post-Wrestlemania season on the blue brand. Plus, ever since the draft happened, these ladies put on great performances to topple the Raw women’s division. So, they rightfully got the spotlight they needed and hopefully will deliver yet another classic match.
Earlier, it was announced that three matches will take place at the Wrestlemania 33 kick-off show. These are the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, Neville vs. Austin Aries for the Cruiserweight championship and the SD Live Women’s championship.
Now, that the last one is being removed from there, it is likely that the Raw tag team championship ladder match will be shifted to the kick-off show.
