This week’s WWE Raw was the final show before we head towards the Extreme Rules PPV on this Sunday.
The go-home show built up the hype up for the one night of the year when all matches in a PPV is made extreme. Quite expectedly, a segment was arranged between Bayley and Alexa Bliss, who will square off on this Sunday for the Raw Women’s Championship.
The unique segment witnessed a throwback to Bayley’s life who is a die-hard WWE fan ever since she was a child. So, it was advertised on the show with a catch-phrase, “This is your life” dedicated to Bayley. The reigning champion, Alexa Bliss was the host of this segment.
Basically, it was a reincarnated version of The Rock and Mick Foley’s friendship back in 1999. It was much appreciated by the audience at that time. Foley invited some of the acquaintances from The Great One’s family to celebrate their partnership which is also known as the Rock and Sock connection. It turned out to be the highest rated segment on Raw, ever.
This time, too, the creative wanted to do something special with the segment in order to gain more sympathy for Bayley. So, they surrounded the ring with past pictures from Bayley’s childhood. Her school teacher, past boyfriend was present in the ring to reveal some interesting details about her.
Alexa Bliss went on to blast her opponent for her pathetic action in her childhood. This was not taken well by the audience since the great mic works of Bliss also failed to keep the anticipation ongoing for the fans. Plus, the segment turned out to be horrible when Bayley’s childhood crush started to kiss her girlfriend in the middle of the ring.
The fans were not pleased, at all with this one and came up with the “this is boring” chants. Plus, the social media also made a mockery of this one stating that the creative does not have enough content in their store and was forced to reminisce an act from the past.
