Bayley has earned the No. 1 contender’s spot on last week’s Monday Night Raw. She was pitted in a matchup against Nia Jax to decide who will face Charlotte at the Royal Rumble PPV. With a little help from the returning Sasha Banks, Bayley connected with the Bayley-to-belly from the top rope to pin the monstrous woman. So, she will finally be getting a singles championship match at Royal Rumble.
With that being said, Bayley fans will be overwhelmed with the hugger if she claims the Raw women’s championship from Charlotte. However as per the rumor mill, she is not going to win the title so early. Charlotte will continue with her reign and keep her PPV streak intact via some shenanigans at the PPV. This will set up a bigger match between them at Wrestlemania.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter stated that going forward, Bayley will be getting a storyline much like Daniel Bryan due to her tremendous fan following. The seeds of that were already planted when Stephanie said that Bayley was an ordinary player whereas Charlotte is a classy champion and the Queen of the Women’s division.
Stephanie will continue doing that en route to Wrestlemania to earn more fans reacting to the segments featuring Bayley. The WWE is trying to repeat the same kind of reaction that once Daniel Bryan received prior to Wrestlemania 2014. Triple H and Stephanie denied to him the main event spotlight stating him a B+ player. In turn, he received the biggest pop of the century and not one but two main events at Wrestlemania 30.
This time too, Stephanie will be repeating her actions, but against Bayley. They expect the audience to get involved in the storyline like the previous one so that a natural bout between Charlotte and Bayley can be set up at Wrestlemania. The hugger one will finally dethrone the Queen at the biggest stage of them all to win her first ever women’s championship.
