Becky Lynch has recently turned into a heel to change the women’s title picture. In fact, she is the center of attention despite Charlotte Flair being the champion of the Smackdown roster. It’s good to see that the Irish lady is finally getting the spotlight that she deserved. The heel-turn could not have come at a better time.
The transformation happened at Summerslam after Charlotte pinned Becky Lynch to win the championship for the seventh time. Originally it was going to be the crowning moment for Becky who had the arm-bar locked in on Carmella. So she could not wait to pounce on Charlotte delivering an ambush.

The strategy of WWE officials was clear that they wanted to bring sympathy out of the audience for Charlotte Flair. It would have solidified the champion’s babyface run on Smackdown. It is much-needed for the officials as they intend to make her the poster girl of the women’s division. She might even go to Wrestlemania 35 main event from this point.
Becky Lynch, on the other hand, would establish herself as the dominant heel on the roster from Summerslam onwards. But the audience reacted completely different than the initial thought. They related to the frustrations with the so-called underdog. So she received cheers from the fans whereas Charlotte Flair continued to get boos.

Previously, WWE dealt with the same problem with Roman Reigns, too. The creative team tried to feed him into us that automatically generated negative reactions. The same can happen for Charlotte Flair too. So the plan, for now, would be to give Becky Lynch push as a tweener. She would continue to play a role between babyface and heel.
A recent report from stillrealtous.com hinted that WWE has recently changed the plans for Becky Lynch,
“Ringside News is reporting that WWE officials are changing creative plans for Becky Lynch, and she’ll be booked in more of a tweener role going forward instead of as a traditional heel. Lynch is still over with the fans despite her recent turn, and WWE has been paying attention.”
This character is somewhat like CM Punk or Stone Cold Steve Austin from the past. The audience used to love their attitude and promos despite the villainous gimmick. Becky Lynch will continue to do the same for sometimes. Then she might turn into a strong babyface after winning the Smackdown women’s championship from Charlotte Flair. We’d see how the creative team set her up for a potential title run.
