Becky Lynch created history at the returning Backlash PPV on September 11th which was hosted by the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Virginia. On that night, Smackdown crowned three new champions in combined to make it a historic night.
The night also marked the first ever six pack challenge for the inaugural Smackdown Women’s championship and Becky was the strongest contender for the title. It also does make sense to crown Becky with the title since she deserved it the most after years of hard work. She was also chosen by Smackdown show-runners as the face of the Women’s division. From that perspective, it was a must-win match for her.

Now, Becky Lynch will have her first title defense against Alexa Bliss at the No mercy PPV. This is a fresh and interesting storyline given by the WWE creative. A couple of dominant title defense will be worthy enough to cement Becky’s legacy as a great Women’s champion.
Meanwhile, she sat for an interview with Michael Cole and said that she is still not getting over it, “It still doesn’t feel real. The next day over breakfast, I wrote everything down but it still hasn’t hit me. It meant a lot that I was the first. You go down in the history books. The big ones have eluded me, but this meant everything to me. I feel pressure, but it’s a good pressure. It’s one that I feel I’m ready for and one that I’m destined for.”
With the women’s revolution going on in a full force Becky believes that there are plenty of chances to involve these women into the main event spotlight of Wrestlemania 33.
“I don’t see a reason why we all couldn’t main event WrestleMania next year. That’s the next step. Once you’ve reached one goal you’re onto the next and we’ve got to keep working hard to achieve that. I never really stop to celebrate each step, because I’m always looking to what’s next, but it’s one thing to get to a certain level but we have to also maintain that. But you never know what will happen, it would be an amazing moment for all of us for sure.”
Becky has been an over the top babyface in WWE roster which can be established as a brand here in the WWE. She just needs some good opponents and feud heading into the next step in her career. She is not supposed to drop the women’s title, anytime soon.
