Brock Lesnar is carrying the Universal Championship on the WWE Raw brand. Hence he should be the prime champion on the flagship show of the company. But that’s not the considered thing on the red brand whenever the beast incarnate is in charge of the title. He remains absent from the scene most of the time allowing the mid-card title to steal the spotlight. The situation is the same in current times for Seth Rollins who is the Intercontinental Champion.
New Wrestlemania plans for Brock Lesnar
He is in the middle of a rivalry on WWE Raw against Dean Ambrose who turned heel in October. It happened on the most emotional night of the year when Roman Reigns announced his battle with Leukemia. When everyone thought that Ambrose and Rollins will stick together, their bond fell apart. The Lunatic Fringe is the reason behind the outburst within the Shield. He will also get an Intercontinental Championship shot against Seth Rollins at the WWE TLC PPV.
But the original planning around this title was something different. Dean Ambrose’s heel-turn was evident to happen. But someone else could have benefitted from this, as per the reports of WrestleVotes. The source revealed that Elias was the one to get a shot to the Intercontinental Championship. Distractions from the newly turned heel would ensure his win in the title match,
“Interesting tidbit for those who like this type of thing: prior to all of RAWs creative plans going up in flames last month, the original Ambrose heel turn angle was to see him cost Rollins the IC title. Who was scheduled to win the strap you ask? Elias.”
There have been reports of WWE officials being high on Elias for a long time. This win would hand him the first championship in the WWE starting a push on the roster. But the big planning was out of the scene considering WWE turned Elias into a babyface. Roman Reigns’ absence is a due reason behind the same as there’s a lack of face superstars on the flagship show.
Elias is dealing with Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush ever since having the transition in character. He is not likely to go back into the Intercontinental Championship scene for now. Rather Dean Ambrose will win it from Seth Rollins in due course to solidify the heel-turn.
