WWE News: Big Changes Made To The Wrestlemania Match Card 1

As per the previous reports, the initial Wrestlemania match card was already decided by the WWE creative. But, as we are inching closer to the Royal Rumble PPV, the planning is seemingly taking a different turn altogether. Various sources suggested that there have been some major changes made to the main event rivalries, which mean we might see different matchups as per last minute decision by the creative.

The Observer reported the regular superstars from both the brands like Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, John Cena will be getting big matches at the event. The list also includes Finn Balor’s name. Dean Ambrose is supposed to stretch his feud against the Miz until Wrestlemania to finally end it there. This will be dome due to lack of options available for them.

The match will be contested for the IC title which means that the tradition of having a ladder match for the IC title will be wiped out from the scene. This is rumored to be replaced by a first-ever women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. This idea around the women’s division is on the hold for quite sometimes and might come to fruition.

The source also suggested that Jericho will keep a hold on the United States championship until Wrestlemania. He will defend it against his best friend, Kevin Owens. This means KO will lose his Universal championship in due course, perhaps at the Royal Rumble PPV.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter further reported that Vince McMahon is still not convinced with the idea of pitting John Cena against the Undertaker. So, despite the Deadman’s entry into the Royal Rumble match, he will not feature in any championship match at Wrestlemania.

Rather, Samoa Joe is expected to have a big-time debut at the Royal Rumble match. He might even win the match to challenge Cena for the title at the grandest stage. Even if the former NXT champion does not win the Rumble match, there’s a great possibility for him to debut on Smackdown and set up a Wrestlemania feud against the franchise, which will culminate at Orlando, Florida.
