Asuka was out of the picture on Smackdown for quite sometimes. She competed in one last title match back at Extreme Rules PPV event. It ended in a losing effort after which WWE took her off the TV. She was not present at the Summerslam PPV event. Fans wonder whether she could appear at the historic Evolution PPV, as well.
It’s hard to believe that WWE has been unable to book Asuka in a PPV match. She used to be the most influential female performer on the roster even a few months ago. Now she could hardly appear on the Smackdown TV. It is a negative indication for her WWE career. Thankfully WWE might have suitable planning for her at Evolution.
A recent report is out from Wrestling Observer Newsletter hinting a heel-turn from Asuka. Her current babyface run has fallen short. It is during this run where her undefeated streak came to an end at Wrestlemania. Turning her into a villain could give her back the lost status from NXT days. Check out the updates from the source, (courtesy SportsKeeda.com),
“WWE wants to turn Asuka heel moving forward in order to make her a bigger deal in the SmackDown Live Women’s division. While it’s not known if this will happen before, during, or after the Evolution pay per view, Asuka turning on an ally at the big event could set the stage for a monstrous heel turn.”
Making Asuka go heel at Evolution could arrange fresh feuds for her in the future. She already had rivalries with current options like Carmella, Charlotte, the IIconics and more.
Only a heel-turn could present her in a transformed avatar in front of the crowd. Plus, the shocking attack to a legend or regular roster member could turn out to be the most effective move.

It could make Asuka relevant on the Smackdown roster following Evolution. She could be back on the title picture by virtue of this. Now, we want to note that a customized Lita vs Asuka poster was doing round on the internet. It hinted a dream match between these two at the Evolution PPV event. Fans looked hopeful about this match since some returnees will appear on the show.
But that might not be the case. Pro-wrestling sheet wiped out any of such rumors. They confirmed the image was completely fake. Furthermore, WWE has no plans to pit Lita against Asuka at Evolution.
So the fans would not see this dream match on the Evolution match card. Instead, we have to wait whether the Empress of Tomorrow is going heel or not.
