WWE has four big PPVs in their schedule i.e. Wrestlemania, Royal Rumble, Survivor Series and Summerslam. In these four both the brand, Raw and Smackdown can participate. Every year in the month of January, we start off the PPV schedule with the Royal Rumble PPV which paves the way for bigger matches in the Wrestlemania
This year too will be the same. Until last week there were some doubts with the location of the place of the Royal Rumble PPV. The speculations were that the event will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California where this week’s Monday Night Raw will take place. So, prior to the night, we expected an update and we got some big announcement from WWE.

The actual schedule is quite different from the previous speculations We will start the PPV schedule on January 29th, 2017 from the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. After, 20 long years since WWE is returning to the Alamodome with the 30th annual Royal Rumble PPV. In the year 1997, the event was hosted at the same venue in a record crowd over 60000. That night, Stone Cold was the one to come out victorious and go on to Wrestlemania.
The more exciting about this year’s Rumble event is WWE will be bringing back the tradition of giving the winner of choosing his opponent. The speculation is that there will be 15 Raw and 15 Smackdown roster members to enter into the event. The winner will have the option whether he will be going for the WWE Universal championship or the WWE World championship. So, the excitement will be like the good old days.
Rumors also suggest that we might see Finn Balor returning at that night, win the event and then go on to demand the Universal title, which he never lost at the first place. Undertaker might show up as well to start the build up for his final match at Wrestlemania.
