WWE News: Big Plans Changed Due to Dean Ambrose’s Injury 1

As reported earlier, Dean Ambrose suffered an injury on his right elbow on the December 18th episode of WWE Raw. Seth Rollins hit his partner with a suicidal dive, accidentally that caused him the injury. The Lunatic Fringe was said to be suffering from a concussion in an elbow which turned into a fatal one with this move from Rollins and taken to the medical facility.

Later, he was forced to undergo a surgery in Birmingham, Alabama by Dr Jeffery Duggas who gave updates that it will take a significant amount of time to heal up the wounds. So, he is expected to be out of action for several months to come. According to the further updates from WWE, he would not be able to wrestle for almost nine months from the date of surgery.

It might have a WWE way to portray the injury in a much severe way so that when he comes back early, the fans would give him a thunderous reaction. This is why some of the sources have already stated that Ambrose might be back on board within three or four months of time especially he is the workhorse of the company.

However, considering that he is the main event guy in the locker room, the creative team was forced to scrap the Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania planning to a big extent. Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported the way Ambrose wrestled for the last three years on a constant basis without any rest, the injury was a long time coming. Check out his quotes,

“God bless the guy; he’s worked more dates in the entire company for a couple of years now. He did more matches than anybody but the body, no matter how slow and soft you work — I mean the human body can only take so much and unfortunately. Finally, he tore his triceps tendon, and now he’s gonna be out for nine months.”

The journalist also alluded the plans of the WWE officials were changed to a big extent since he was a constant main event player on the scene. A heel turn from Ambrose was also on the card around the Wrestlemania season by turning on Seth Rollins. There might be something big in-store involving The Shield, as well which was nixed out at the very last moment,

“And they had changed Royal Rumble plans. Obviously, they change plans all the time, well there was an idea for the Royal Rumble in a very prominent position. I know Dave [Meltzer] there were plans for WrestleMania that involved him in a fairly prominent position. Now he’s out of action. So, that sucks for him, but hey, sometimes you just need a break.”
