Dean Ambrose has not wrestled in a match in 2018. It is the one name of the WWE Raw roster we miss each week. He used to be the workhorse of the WWE who worked in the most number of matches for the last couple of years. But the workload put his body in certain jeopardy going forward.
An elbow injury troubled him a lot during the entire fall of 2017. Doctors initially reckoned it to be a minor injury. He continued to wrestle in-house shows and TV tapings with a heavily taped elbow. This routine turned out to be much fatal for him in the future. He suffered a triceps torn back in December 2017.
Doctors might have been going through a wrong diagnosis procedure for Dean Ambrose too. The previous updates expected him back onboard in time for Wrestlemania. But that was not the case. WWE had to push back his return, as he is still trying to overcome the elbow issues.
Meanwhile, we have received a report courtesy of Brad Sheperd from Bodyslam.net about Dean Ambrose. The wrestling journalist confirmed he is set to make the biggest impact upon his comeback. He would go straight after the Universal Championship following his surprise return.
The source also predicted Dean Ambrose would don a heel persona once he shows up. It is most probably going to happen after Summerslam PPV. Here’s the update (courtesy Sportskeeda.com),
“Dean Ambrose could return to WWE as a heel and insert himself into the Universal Championship picture. This means that if either Roman Reigns or Seth Rollins could win the Championship from Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, then Ambrose could step into a feud with one of his former teammates.”
The storyline angle would be suitable for Dean Ambrose too if this happens. Seth Rollins was the one who accidentally hit on his partner’s arms, the day he suffered the injury. So it makes much sense to come back and take out frustrations on Rollins.
The current rumours suggest Seth Rollins will be the one to face and dethrone Brock Lesnar from his title reign. Dean Ambrose would be his first challenger over the title as per this report.
