Dean Ambrose was suffering from an elbow injury last year for quite sometimes. To get rid of the minor injury, he was wrestling after his elbow getting heavily taped. But, that was not enough to cover up the major concussion, as he torn parts of ligaments in the right arm and got out of action.
According to the reports given on WWE.com, he “tore some of the distal triceps tendons where it attaches to the forearm bone, called the olecranon”.
This forced the former WWE Champion to undergo a surgery that happened in late December. After being the workhorse of the company for the last four years, he was finally sent back home to take some rest.
Being one of the popular superstars on the roster, the fans did not like his hiatus, for sure. The officials did get a major headache to deal with too considering that the Wrestlemania season is picking up and they had to head into it without a less main event star in the card.
As per the commentary team’s update, Dean Ambrose might be out for nine months due to this injury.
However, if a recent update is to be believed, then it might happen much earlier than expected. According to the reports from PWInsider.com, the Lunatic Fringe was spotted in Birmingham, Alabama. He checked in to the same medical facility where his surgery was performed. It might be due to a routine check-up.
Or else, it might just turn out to be the final diagnosis to give him the green signal to return to in-ring action, sooner. Last year, Braun Strowman suffered the same kind of injury tearing a ligament in his right hand. While the official updates stated he would be out for nine months, he was back within just three months.
It certainly raised the hopes up for an early return of the one-third member of The Shield. Check out the updates from SportsKeeda.com about the same, here,
“Many believe that this spotting could be a sign that he is on track for a surprise return. Of course, Strowman must have worked incredibly hard to shave six months off his time frame for a return, and it seems that Ambrose will have to work just as hard if there is a plan for him to return and be a part of WrestleMania.”
This update definitely means he will be available for this year’s Wrestlemania. Previously, Seth Rollins was supposed to be his Wrestlemania opponent. With Jason Jordan being out of action due to the neck injury, Rollins is still out with a ‘Mania opponent. Hence, it will be interesting to see whether a heel-turn is reserved for Dean Ambrose upon return to set up a match between the two brothers from The Shield.
