The theme of the last big PPV of the year, Survivor Series is a brand vs brand rivalry to declare the supremacy over each other. As part of the cross-brand matches, we have seven matches combined with four champions vs champions matches and the two traditional 5-on-5 elimination matches.
Brock Lesnar and AJ Styles is slated to face each other since they are the prime champions of both the brand, whereas, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte will take one each other being the female champions. Also, the respective tag team champions from the brand will take on each other alongside the mid-card title-holders, i.e. the US Champion going against the Intercontinental Champion.
This kind of cross-brand scenarios is quite interesting considering this sets up some fresh lineups for PPV matches. Also, it is the only one night of the year where two brands go head to head to give us a night full of entertainment.
Going by the recent reports from the Dirty Sheets, major conflicts are going on between the Raw and Smackdown Live creative teams over the planning for the announced matches. Both the brand officials are favouring their brand when it comes to the outcome. So, Vince McMahon had to step into the mix to decide the winners.
According to the source, The Boss has instructed that Raw should win with a 3-2 score, as decided for now. Brock Lesnar is slated to beat AJ Styles alongside the US vs Intercontinental title match and the traditional tag team match from the men’s division.
Smackdown has been granted to the win in the female division tag team matchup, whereas, the other win is yet to get finalised. It is what the source had to say about the current situation,
“During preliminary discussions, regarding how to the book the matches and results at the Survivor Series PPV, it’s being said that neither writing team were willing to see their brand members weakened and a lot of the discussions ended in deadlock.”
Another reason for Raw emerging as the ultimate winner of this PPV is that Kurt Angle’s job is on the line in this event. He is supposed to retain his position by securing the win on behalf of his team and then continue the feud against the McMahon family.
