WWE News: Big Update On Roman Reigns’ Wrestlemania Opponent 1

As per reports earlier, Roman Reigns was supposed to be the dual champion at the Roadblock PPV. But recent speculations are indicating some drastic changes in Samoan Superstar’s planning.

According to the recent report  from Inquisitr.com, Roman Reigns will not win the WWE Universal Championship at the last PPV of the year. He’ll still be the United States Championship heading into 2017 and might not lose it until Wrestlemania. Furthermore, it has been learnt Reigns might move to Smackdown Live.

It has also been learnt Vince McMahon does not like the current design of the United States Championship. Hence, it will be redesigned in the near future. This is also the supposed reason why the US title has not been seen much in the past few weeks.

Reigns has not been involved in any full-fledged US title feuds ever since he got the better of of Rusev at the Hell in a Cell PPV. He moved on to the Universal Championship picture from Survivor Series onwards. However, since he is not going to win the title at Roadblock, he will feature in a big rivalry for his US title.

The rumor mill suggests that Braun Strowman is going to be Reigns’ opponent at Wrestlemania 33. If the match indeed takes place at Wrestlemania, then we might see the US title design getting changed during that time, much like the Divas championship was converted into the Women’s championship, this year.

Strowman has not received any big opponent and feud till date. Despite being the mountain of a man, he has been sidelined from the title picture. Hence, if this match is planned for Wrestlemania 33, then it will be a big boost to his career.

As of now, he’ll feature in a match with Sami Zayn at WWE Roadblock with a time limit of 10-minute. This feud is not likely to be stretched further. Going forward, he might be featured in a short feud with the returning Big Show to gain some momentum by his side and then finally with Roman Reigns for the United States championship.
