We have received big news ahead of this week’s WWE Raw around the main event of the night. The official website confirmed that a title match will be the headliner of the show from Memphis, Tennessee. The Intercontinental Championship was on the line in a triple threat lineup. Dean Ambrose defended it against Bobby Lashley and Seth Rollins at the same time. It ended with crowning a new champion on the show that we expected the least.
McMahons are trying hard to deliver some fresh matchups on WWE Raw as promised in December. With limited options available, the task is tough indeed but they are at least trying. This triple threat was a part of that effort where we have seen a solid matchup under No Disqualification rules. It was a second chance for Seth Rollins.
Last week on WWE Raw, he collided with Dean Ambrose in a Falls Count Anywhere match over the Intercontinental title. Thanks to Bobby Lashley, The Architect failed to capture the mid-card title. A vicious beatdown followed by the end of the show ruining the day for Seth Rollins. This is why the officials handed him another fair title shot.
Dean Ambrose was not happy at all about defending his Intercontinental title in a city like Memphis, Tennessee. His two challengers also cut promos prior to the match began on WWE Raw. It started in an interesting way where Dean Ambrose wanted to make an ally with Seth Rollins to take care of Bobby Lashley. But Rollins threw him into the All Mighty One to make him even angrier.
Both Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins suffered his wrath, thereafter. Bobby Lashley hit a spinebuster on Rollins and hit an overhead belly-to-belly suplex on the champion on the floor. But Seth Rollins fought back valiantly by coming up with his pendant suplex and the Falcon Arrow. But Lashley stayed alive into the match. Lio Rush helped to keep Rollins out of the ring that allowed the All Mighty to cut Dean Ambrose into two halves with a spear.
This earned Bobby Lashley a huge win on WWE Raw. For the first time ever in his career, he has been able to become the Intercontinental Champion. This title change on the show was not expected at all heading into Royal Rumble. Perhaps, Rollins and Ambrose will now collide over non-title matches whereas Bobby Lashley will move to newer opponents to defend the title.
