Brock Lesnar has been absent from WWE Raw since Survivor Series passed by. He defeated Daniel Bryan in a dream match on that night. Prior to that, he won the Universal Championship at WWE Crown Jewel on November 2nd. So it’s been more than two months that we have seen a prime title match from the red brand.
Brock Lesnar to miss Wrestlemania 35
This why fans don’t love Brock Lesnar as the champion. He does not show up on WWE Raw until and unless the occasion is bigger. Well, last night was something like that as WWE’s flagship show delivered the first episode of 2019. Multiple returns were on the card alongside the beast incarnate. He was about to hype up the first Universal title defense on January 27th.
Braun Strowman is the current number one contender on WWE Raw over the Universal Championship. He will get the title shot at the Royal Rumble event. Eventually, he was also away from WWE Raw for a week owing to his injury. An elbow surgery kept him out of action since mid-November. He should be okay though to compete by Royal Rumble.
But if last night’s WWE Raw was any indication then doctors may have not given him a clean-chit to have any physical confrontation. Braun Strowman was out on the show, first. He received a mic to call out the beast incarnate but rather chose to go at the top of his voice and call the champion out. Paul Heyman came out and gave him a warning that it’d not be good for him if Brock Lesnar comes out on WWE Raw.
The monster among men looked least bothered and continued to provoke the Universal Champion. Brock Lesnar eventually showed up and continued smirking at his Royal Rumble opponent. The challenger called the champion “Beastie boy” to test his patience. The beast could not control himself and started heading to the ring.
Brock Lesnar stalked down Strowman as he advanced closer to the ring. But he dared to get into the ring despite the monster wanting him to do so. He rounded the ring for once before leaving WWE Raw. Braun Strowman picked up the mic while the champ was leaving. He confirmed that at Royal Rumble, he’s going to steal the championship that is absent from WWE Raw.
