After his feud against Goldberg, Brock Lesnar will be appearing for one last fight in this calendar year of 2016. Rusev has been named Lesnar’s next opponent for a live event in December.
This is going to be a house show in Mexico City, Mexico on December 3rd from the Raw brand. The next night WWE will be hosting the TLC PPV from the Smackdown brand at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.

Many thought the WWE might pick Sami Zayn to fight Lesnar for the event. Since Zayn is an immensely popular face in Mexico due to his El generic gimmick, he was going to be the automatic choice, according to the rumor mill. But the Bulgarian Brute was chosen instead. The news was given by WWE’s official Twitter handle.
This will be the second time Rusev will face Brock Lesnar this year. Earlier, in February, Rusev squared off against the beast incarnate in a match that lasted for around three minutes. Lesnar bulldozed his way to the victory after delivering multiple suplexes. Now, it’s time for Rusev to go back to the Suplex City, again.
Brock Lesnar is working overtime in the WWE this year. He has already appeared in four PPVs as per his contract. Survivor Series PPV will mark his fifth appearance in a PPV event. This suggests that he might have had a contract negotiation in recent past. Even the match against Goldberg was made very fast. It was not even sure during the time of Summerslam.
Apart from the PPVs, Brock Lesnar has appeared for multiple house shows in this calendar year against opponents like Rusev, Del Rio, Sheamus & Randy Orton. His appearance in December is likely to be the last one in this year.
