WWE News: Brock Lesnar returning to UFC prior to WWE

During the recently held UFC 199 pay-per-view, it was announced that Brock Lesnar is heading back to the UFC. ESPN’s @SportsCenter account on Twitter declared the news that the beast is returning to the Octagon. Here is the announcement:

The News came as a shocker as he is already in a contract with WWE. WWE then clarified the same as a “one-off opportunity” as they posted the below on their official website:
“Brock Lesnar remains under contract to WWE, however, he has been granted a one-off opportunity to compete at UFC 200. Following this milestone event on July 9, Brock will return to WWE for SummerSlam on Sunday, August 21, live on WWE Network.”

The UFC 200 event is scheduled on July 9th and it’s now confirmed that Brock Lesnar will compete against Mark Hunt at the pay-per-view. Though, the news of returning is quite interesting as wrestlezone.com reports that Lesnar renewed his contract after his match at Wrestlemania 32 with an added agreement which will allow him to compete in UFC fight in between his appearances in WWE. It is not quite understandable why Vince McMahon would allow him to such an extent. Perhaps, in return, he can expect big names from UFC like Ronda Rousey for a one-night appearance.
Lesnar has not been seen in a WWE arena since the Wrestlemania season is over. Recently, in the WWE 2K17 video game trailer featuring Goldberg sees a sign of Suplex City, a reference to Brock Lesnar. Perhaps, the plan is to rekindle the rivalry of Goldberg and Brock Lesnar after they had a bad finish at Wrestlemania 20 and departed from WWE. Lesnar is scheduled to appear for one match at Summerslam. Though, his opponent is yet to be known.

Meanwhile, Cagesideseats.com reports that the United States champion Rusev has called out Brock Lesnar for a fight. Rusev took his Twitter handle to express his desire to fight Lesnar whether in WWE or in a UFC ring. It will be a huge fight if WWE lets these two huge monsters fight inside the squared circle. They have had competition in the past only in the live events where Rusev was used to look like Brock Lesnar’s prey. The Proper storyline between these two will make a huge spectacle, to say the least.
