WWE News: Captains for Survivor Series Match-ups Determined on Smackdown 1

After the last edition of Raw, the official buildup for the Survivor Series PPV has begun. Last night’s Smackdown carried it forward with two big match-ups. We already knew the four Champion vs Champion matches for the dual brand PPV in November.

Also, there will be two traditional Survivor Series tag team elimination matches. Five men and women will be chosen from both Raw and Smackdown to feature in this prestigious match-up to determine the brand supremacy.

We are yet to know about the five contestants from both the brands except for the women’s team that was declared by Smackdown, last night. In a backstage segment, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Lana, Tamina, Naomi, and Carmella had a confrontation arguing over who would be the one to lead her team at the dual brand PPV.

To determine the spot, Daniel Bryan announced a fatal-five-way match featuring all the female superstars mentioned except for Lana. She was not happy with this decision, at all and is likely to involve in the match negatively on November 19th.

Now, most of the fans thought it would be Charlotte to become the victorious one. However, it turned out to be none other than Becky Lynch who forced Carmella to tap out via the dis-arm-her submission move. With that, it got confirmed that the Irish Lass-kicker will be leading the blue brand ladies.

Apart from that, Smackdown was also the first one to declare the captain for the men’s team, as well. The current top heel, Sami Zayn volunteered to be the captain with Kevin Owens by his side. However, the commissioner declared, he has to earn his opportunity by defeating Randy Orton.

The underdog from the underground tried to play dirty games with Kevin Owens distracting Orton in the matchup. However, it instead allowed Orton to deliver a low blow to Zayn while the referee was distracted.

He followed it up with his pendant RKO move to officially become the captain of the Smackdown men’s team at the Survivor Series PPV. The Viper being in charge of his team will give a boost to the confidence of the blue brand roster. Over the years, he has been the sole survivor for his team on many occasions in this particular event.
