WWE News: Carmella To Be Punished For Stealing Money In The Bank Briefcase
Jun 20, 2017 at 3:25 PM
The first-ever Money in the Bank ladder match for the women’s division is in the history books of the WWE. WWE kept intact the number of five women for the match which were Charlotte, Natalya, Carmella, Natalya, and Tamina. No sixth member was included in the contest as per the speculation that was going on for the past couple of days.
However, the outcome of the match did not come out as it was expected for the night. Carmella did win the matchup but it did not come without a controversy. It was expected that James Ellsworth would turn out to be a deciding factor and that’s how she was literally handed the briefcase.
.@realellsworth climbs the ladder…@CarmellaWWE catches the ?…

Carmella did not event climb up the ladder to grab the briefcase. Instead, Ellsworth reached to the top of the ladder and unlocked the briefcase to hold it first. Thereafter, he threw it down to his so-called ‘girl’ friend.
The officials did not have any clue about whether it was a legal action or not. Never before in the history of the Money in the Bank PPV, it has happened that someone climbed up the ladder on another person’s behalf and grabbed it.
This is not what I had envisioned for the FIRST EVER Women’s #MITB match. @realellsworth and @CarmellaWWE just robbed the #WWE Universe.

Following this chaos, Smackdown Commissioner let us knew his reactions on Twitter. He was not present during this PPV on Sunday but declared that’s not how he wanted to go things down in the historic matchup.
Absolutely unacceptable and cheap. The circumstances surrounding the Women’s #MITB match will be the FIRST thing addressed on #SDLive.

Later, the Smackdown commissioner, Daniel Bryan had posted another tweet stating that how it was unfair for the women’s division. So, he will be taking actions against both Carmella and Ellsworth on the upcoming episode. In case you don’t know, Bryan has been absent from the show ever since Wrestlemania is over but he will be returning, tomorrow night.
It was a no disqualification match. Read the rules of the contract, ladies! This briefcase, the contract, & the win are MINE. #MITB

Meanwhile, The Princess of Staten Island defended her actions stating that it was totally fair since the rule book states that it’s a no disqualification contest. It is being assumed that another match might be made up for the briefcase, in future.
