WWE News: Carmella Tries to Unmask Asuka’s Truth on Smackdown Live

This week’s Smackdown Live kicked off interestingly. We do not get to see the female superstars opening the show quite often.

The women’s champion, Carmella was standing inside the ring in the opening segment. She continued to boast about his title reign on the blue brand. The win against Charlotte Flair on two occasions boosted up her confidence.

So she wanted the Smackdown audience to shower herself with appreciation. Her mic skills have got so better during this timespan.

The initial reactions have turned into insane boos from the fans which are positive reactions about the championship run.

Carmella announced earlier that she would unmask the truth about Asuka. People think she is a competitor that only a few can defeat.

But she had lost her streak at Wrestlemania 34. It was not the only loss for her. Asuka also lost a match against the IIconics a few weeks ago.

She channelled a video of these losses on the tron. The champion went on to say the loss against Charlotte shattered Asuka from deep inside. She is not the same anymore like her previous NXT days. Carmella does not fear Asuka because ‘Mella is Money’.

Asuka did appear on Smackdown to give it back to her MITB opponent. But Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville quickly interrupted her in the ring.

Deville claimed to be coming up short against Asuka was a fluke on last week’s Smackdown. She demanded another opportunity. The GM sanctioned a two-on-one handicap match as per Asuka’s wish.

The Empress of Tomorrow won the match comfortably despite number games not being in her favour. But then again the heels stood tall.

Mandy Rose provided the distraction once the match was over. Carmella came to the ring from the back and hit Asuka with the championship belt.

It ended the opening segment of Smackdown Live. The champion was celebrating after putting down the so-called strongest lady on the roster.

It was good to see the title-holder getting such a momentum against a high-calibre name like Asuka. It indicates Carmella might continue to be the champion even after Money in the Bank PPV.
