WWE News: Charlotte Flair Out of Mixed Match Challenge Due to Injury 1

A dream match for the fans is waiting for the fans at Wrestlemania for the Smackdown Women’s Championship.

Charlotte Flair is slated to defend her title against Asuka. The latter one had won the Royal Rumble match to declare she will be facing The Queen of the WWE female roster.

Back at Fastlane, this match got finalized. However, it looks like the match is in jeopardy after an injury scare broke out, last night.

The uncertainty with this match came up after an official statement was released on the WWE’s official website. It confirmed Charlotte Flair is currently dealing with a concussion.

Hence, she was unable to compete in the Mixed Match Challenge semi-final, last night. The news scared most of the WWE fans which also kept the mega Wrestlemania match is in doubt.

The update given on WWE.com did not reveal much details of the concussion suffered by the genetically superior athlete. Neither the location of the injury was disclosed nor do we know the severity of the same.

Considering that we are just 12 days away from the biggest stage of them all, there are some major concerns about her status.

Below is the given update on Charlotte Flair on the WWE website which focused more on the MMC contest. It is an indication that the concussion might not be much dangerous, at this point,

“With SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair unable to compete on WWE Mixed Match Challenge tonight due to injury, a fan vote will determine Bobby Roode’s new partner against the Second Chance Fan Vote-winning tandem of Finn Bálor & Sasha Banks.”

In the champion’s absence, WWE started a poll to choose a new partner for Bobby Roode amongst the names of Becky Lynch, Lana and Miss Money in the Bank, Carmella. Lynch was chosen from the options, and she did well to earn the pinfall win. This still keeps the hope that Charlotte might compete in the final match, next week.

After the same concussion-scare broke out with AJ Styles, for the past few weeks, WWE creative might have decided to give the second-nature, some rest. This would definitely help her to get over from the ongoing concussion. In that case, the match between Charlotte and Asuka will remain intact, and no backup planning would be needed, at all. More updates would be received in this matter, in the near future.
