WWE News: Charlotte Flair Reveals Why She Had Turned Into A Villain 1

Although, two women from WWE Raw created history at the Hell in a Cell PPV, WWE has received a lot of backlash from the fans for the lame finish. A finish that was so poor and without any story-telling and it further ended the title run of Sasha Banks, which only lasted for a couple of weeks.

The hometown fans of Sasha Banks were hurt by seeing Sasha burying like this. Even the critics did not expect Charlotte to win. This has hurt Sasha Banks’ image to a certain extent and will take a lot of time to recover. So, wrestling pundit Dave Meltzer called the Women’s showdown at Hell in a Cell a flop which never lived up to the hype.

It’s true that WWE is trying to build up Charlotte as the best women’s champion of all time. But, her bookings have been so strong that it did have negative effects to its co-workers like Sasha Banks or Becky Lynch. Charlotte was the one who ended Nikki Bella’s streak as the longest reigning Divas champion of all time. But, most of the fans could not accept it since she was just a rookie back then and had not even spent two months on the main roster.

WWE tried to make that up by handing her own streak of 14-0 in the PPV history. No another female or male wrestler has such an incredible streak that Charlotte does have and that too in her debut year. While she started as a babyface, the heel turn helped a lot in her career.
The self-proclaimed queen of the Women’s division appeared on ESPN’s Women’s Wrestling show and revealed why he has turned into a villain by commenting the following,
“The hard part for me was not the wrestling — it was showing emotion, telling a story and being able to connect with fans. Coming out as Ric Flair’s daughter and being called athletically gifted, it’s hard to say, “Hey, like me! You can relate to me!” It wasn’t working, so I completely switched my character. I find it easier to pretend to be the person everyone already thinks I am, versus being who I am.”
