Chris Jericho has parted ways with the WWE, recently ending the current stint. He is scheduled to go on a musical tour with his band Fozzy. It will be ongoing until the end of the next month.
Upon his departure, he appeared in a number of interviews to talk about the wrapped up stint. He admitted that this one was his favourite, despite the presence of ‘who’s who’ in the company, he was the best attraction on Raw, even at this age.
Plus, the innovative catchphrases like the Gift of Jericho, IT or everybody’s favourite, “List of Jericho” would always make this one the most memorable one. He also won the United States championship twice in this stint making him one of the seven Grand Slam title winners in the WWE.
Meanwhile, Chris Jericho gave an interview on the Busted Open radio where he stated that AJ Styles is the best wrestler present in the company, today. He is fortunate enough to get the opportunity to work with him, last year which will always be very special.
Check out his statements from the interview where he described the working experience with the Phenomenal One:
“Guilty as charged on all accounts. When it was time for me to win, I would stand up for myself and say I need to get this victory. But most of the time it was putting over guys and you mentioned AJ [Styles]. I take great pride in the fact that when he came into the company, and I know how Vince thinks and that he doesn’t care what people have done outside of the walls of the WWE.
I knew that if I could work with him for a couple of months that I could help him with the small little things that he didn’t know about WWE that he picked up in about two weeks. And also get him over with the boss right away. And that’s basically what happened, and AJ is the best in the world I would say at this point. He was when he came in but still, there was a little bit of a transition.”
AJ Styles debuted in the WWE as part of the 2016 Royal Rumble match. We were pretty happy to see a program between him and Chris Jericho from that point onwards. That even led to a Wrestlemania match at the 32nd edition of the event.
