CM Punk is one of the most organically popular wrestlers of this generation. The pro-wrestling fans love him for his revolutionary role from his heyday. He was unique from the other superstars present in the locker room. It is the reason why he portrayed the role of an anti-authority figure all the way.
CM Punk did not play this role only in a kayfabe perspective. He was also the same persona in real life too. The management found it hard to satisfy him within the existing system.
He wanted a change badly. Some of his words from the infamous pipe-bomb segment has come out from his heart. It is why fans remember him as the ‘voice of the voiceless.’
There’s no surety whether CM Punk will come back to the WWE or not. Most of the previous reports suggested he is happy to stay away from the pro-wrestling business. But that might not be right going by his recent words. If the offer is right then we might see the former Straight Edge leader coming back on board. It should be the biggest return of this generation if executed successfully.
The current rumors suggest the organizers of the All-In Show in Chicago will include him on the card. It would be huge considering the event is happening in his hometown. CM Punk confirmed that no one had approached him for this event till now. Check out his words from an interview conducted by MMAfighting.com, (courtesy wrestlingINC.com),
“Nobody has ever asked me, like straight up asked me, to come to wrestle for them. Nobody.[People have said] hey, if you ever wanna do anything… Nobody’s ever been like, ‘hey, here’s the deal, we’re having a show, we’re paying you X amount, and you’re working this guy. Whaddaya say, yes or no?’ Nobody’s ever done that.”
The host asked some more from him about a potential return to the squared circle. The longest reigning WWE Champion of the modern era was not keen on this topic. He might not want to do it unless it is more than impressive. He is currently having the focus on his MMA career and will continue to do that.
CM Punk is over with the lawsuit filed by WWE doctor Chris Amann some years ago. He came up with a clean victory in this case which is a significant win for him.
This case was bothering him for a long time since leaving the WWE in 2014. Now that it is over he might consider coming back to the WWE via proper arrangements.
