CM Punk is that one superstar who has walked out of the WWE and dared to never look back. Despite the fans wanting him back with thunderous chants for almost every week, he decided to stay retired. There’s no confirmation whether WWE tried to contact him for the much-anticipated comeback. But the recent scenario suggests that we should not be surprised if that eventually happens.

The fact that the company’s doctor Chris Amann took him and Colt Cabana to the court, has made a crack in their relationship. Also, the amount of money they had to spend in this lawsuit was way bigger. So CM Punk may try to recover this via some means and what better way to do it than re-signing with the biggest pro-wrestling promotion of the world.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that the general feeling is that if CM Punk makes a return to pro wrestling then it will be for WWE. Punk admitted during Starrcast III that he’s not calling WWE, but he’d listen to them what offer they could come up with. He was “very political in his speech” and the speculated reason could be for monetary purpose.

Previous reports were out claiming Punk’s representation reached out to Fox to try and get him a spot on their FS1 studio show. But “WWE wasn’t interested in him for that.” The feeling was that if CM Punk returns to WWE television then fans will want him to wrestle. However, PWInsider.com reported CM Punk was at FOX Studios this week in LA for a meeting regarding having an on-air role on the “WWE Backstage” show. Only time will tell whether WWE chooses him for the show.

John Morrison Re-Signs With WWE, Returning Soon

Chances are also high for one final return since CM Punk did not agree to the offer that All Elite Wrestling has made to him. He received an “opening offer from AEW.” As revealed during his Marc Raimondi interview, AEW head Cody Rhodes offered him a deal via text. But that did not come to fruition as Punk and AEW are not in contact since then. So this might be WWE’S turn to show some interest in bringing back the former world champion. This could very well become ‘the return of the century’ if executed well. We’ll see if WWE wants to bank on that.
