The card for the WWE Royal Rumble match kept on changing over the past few days. Last week, it was the United States Championship match finale which got dropped from the card.
The tournament culminated instead on an episode of Smackdown Live by which we received a brand new champion in the form of Bobby Roode.
This week, another title match was removed from the match card following the Enzo Amore situation. As reported earlier, the superstar got suspended which was later converted into a release after the Phoenix Police pressed charges against him and decided to continue the investigation in this sexual assault case.
With that being said, it was evident that we were either getting to see a new Cruiserweight championship match at the Royal Rumble PPV or the title will remain vacated for a definite span of time. The company decided to go for the second option, as we have seen on this week’s 205 Live show.
With no one being in-charge for the show for the lightweights, the fate of the title of the division will remain undecided. In a video message, it was noted by Smackdown General Manager that the 205 Live show would be getting a new show-runner. The name will be announced, next week. He will be announcing the contenders for the vacant championship. These are the title matches set for Royal Rumble,

2-on-1 Handicap Match
AJ Styles (c) vs. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn
WWE Universal Championship
Triple Threat Match
Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Kane vs. Braun Strowman

Earlier, it got confirmed that Enzo Amore will defend his title against Cedric Alexander in a rematch at Royal Rumble PPV. The challenger is quite unfortunate since he is eyeing the title for quite sometimes but still did not receive a proper shot to it. With Enzo being gone, we might see a plethora of names involving to the title scene pushing him back into the line.
Meanwhile, the former champion has released a statement claiming he was not involved in any sexual harassment case. Even on the night of WWE Raw 25th anniversary, he arrived at the Barclays Center to attend the historic show. But, it was Vince McMahon who ordered him to get out of the building.
