The 371 days of WWE Championship finally came to an end on last night’s Smackdown. It was a night filled with multiple surprises throughout the show. But never did we imagine to see AJ Styles getting pinned with the title hanging in the balance. Daniel Bryan was the man to do the unthinkable also cementing his heel-turn. He is the new WWE Champion who also altered lineups for Survivor Series.

The night opened with AJ Styles talking about his Survivor Series match against Brock Lesnar. For two years in a row, he was about to face the beast incarnate representing Smackdown. He has been the WWE Champion defending it against the best that sports entertainment has to offer. But he has not beaten Brock Lesnar which eats him up. So he planned more than just to survive at Survivor Series.
Paul Heyman interrupted him sooner with a mic in hand from the ring announcer’s area. He mentioned Daniel Bryan as the superior athlete than AJ Styles. He was clearly trying to get under the skin of the reigning WWE Champion, as of then. Daniel Bryan soon arrived on the scene trying to find out a reason to punch AJ on the face. This created a brawl inside the ring between the two of them.
Shane McMahon ran down towards the ring to stop it right there. Officials helped him to separate these two. At backstage, Shane and Bryan got into an argument which continued for sometimes. The Smackdown commissioner awarded Daniel Bryan with a WWE title shot at the main event, all of a sudden. Well, there was a hint right there that we could see a new WWE Champion by the end of Smackdown.
AJ Styles vs. Daniel Bryan number III started with some shoulder blocks. The latter one delivered some YES kicks to the chest of the Phenomenal One. AJ grabbed the leg at one point and hammered it with some elbows. The challenger as down in agony clutching his knees. This became a target for AJ Styles for the rest of the match. He was able to lock in the Calf Crusher but Bryan escaped somehow.
He dodged the Phenomenal Forearm as AJ Styles hit the referee. Daniel Bryan gave a low blow on AJ before giving him the Running Knee for the pinfall win. The beatdown continued even after Bryan became the new WWE Champion. This confirmed the heel-turn of the leader of the YES nation. The surprising title change also confirmed that Brock Lesnar will now face Daniel Bryan at Survivor Series. Well, the fans should be happy about it since they are getting another dream match on this Sunday.
