The WWE Universe could hardly get over from the performance that Kofi Kingston delivered at Elimination Chamber. Well, the WWE creative team did not forget it either that has now earned him a title opportunity on March 10th. He is all set to compete in a WWE Championship match against Daniel Bryan on the pay-per-view event known as Fastlane.
Backstage reactions on Kofi Kingston
Last night, he competed in six-man tag team match to come up as the winner. Kofi Kingston pinned Daniel Bryan to earn his title opportunity at Fastlane PPV. He delivered a missile drop-kick and a high-flying move on Bryan to put the champion down. Thereafter, the Trouble in Paradise followed to pick up the win.
Following this victory, Shane McMahon appeared on the ramp to inform us that Kofi-Mania will continue at Fastlane. The veteran is now getting a title match on the final PPV event prior to Wrestlemania. Here’s the confirmation from WWE.com,
“Kingston will receive a one-on-one opportunity for the title at WWE Fastlane. Tune into WWE Fastlane to see who heads to WrestleMania as WWE Champion when the event streams live Sunday, March 10, at 7 ET/4 PT on the award-winning WWE Network.”
Daniel Bryan put his WWE championship on the line back at Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. It was perhaps the toughest title defense of his reign, to date. But he overcame all the odds to come out of the structure with the title shining around his shoulder. This made his strong status intact over on Smackdown.
But he did not expect to get some free times following Elimination Chamber. We have received confirmations about WWE putting him through another title defense at Fastlane. The name was about to be revealed on last night’s episode of Smackdown. That’s exactly happened on the show confirming the next WWE Championship match.
Speculations were running rampant predicting who will be the next contender for the WWE Championship. Five prime names those are Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy, Kofi Kingston, Samoa Joe, and AJ Styles were unable to take the title away from him. Hence, we expected someone new against him at Fastlane. Well, the announced lineup is indeed somewhat fresh for the WWE Championship that the fans wanted to see.
