Kurt Angle has an otherwise dull farewell tour has just heated up with a huge announcement from WWE. In an official statement, the official website of the company has just revealed the main event of this week’s Smackdown where the Hall of Famer returns to the blue brand. He will compete against AJ Styles in one of the dream matches that WWE Universe expected to see for a long time. Here’s the statement via WWE.com,
Spoiler: WWE to change Kurt ANgle’s retirement match, tonight!
Has Alexa Bliss been over with in-ring competition on TV?
“Kurt Angle’s farewell tour is about to hit SmackDown LIVE in the biggest way possible. Oh, it’s true. Angle’s final match ever on the blue brand will take place this Tuesday night when the WWE Hall of Famer takes on AJ Styles. The two Superstars share a rich history, but this will be the first time the two have ever locked up in a WWE ring. Angle has long been a cornerstone of the SmackDown brand and will undoubtedly create one last classic moment against The Phenomenal One. Watch as history is made this Tuesday night at 8/7 C on USA Network.”
As you can see, Kurt Angle will appear for one last time on Smackdown Live prior to his retirement. It will happen on April 7th at the biggest event of them all also known as Wrestlemania 35. Baron Corbin is his scheduled opponent which brought out a negative backlash on Twitter. There are chances that WWE might just go on to change this lineup.
But before this, we have to sink in the dream match that is waiting for us on this Tuesday night. There’s no way we would have thought of seeing this matchup on the road to Wrestlemania 35. But AJ Styles will still indeed be dancing against his former TNA colleague in a match that WWE never showed interested to host. But it will happen eventually that gives us chills even by thinking.
As stated earlier, Kurt Angle will take retirement following Wrestlemania 35. So WWE will not get a chance to host this matchup after April 7th. On the other hand, AJ Styles will take on against Randy Orton in another dream match at the biggest event of the year from the Smackdown roster.
