It has become a norm for Smackdown to give us a plethora of dream matches or first-ever matches that we have never seen. The tradition started in the beginning of 2017 with a matchup between AJ Styles and Randy Orton to decide who will take on Bray Wyatt for the WWE Championship. Since then, we have seen a number of such matches on the main event of several Tuesday Nights.
Matches like John Cena vs. Jinder Mahal, Cena vs. Nakamura for the number one contender’s spot is definitely something that we desired to see. But all the credit goes to the creative team of the show that they were able to arrange all of these matches in the past. In addition, there will be one more such match, next week.
The news broke first on WWE’s twitter account where it was stated that Randy Orton will go one-on-one against Shinsuke Nakamura on Smackdown for the number one contender’s spot for the WWE Championship. It means that the winner of this match will get to face the titleholder in near future.

As we all know, Randy and Nakamura are two of the most accomplished athletes in the world of sports entertainment. But, they did not get the opportunity to lock horns in their career. So, ever since Nakamura joined the main roster, this was a dream matchup for the fans which they will finally be able to witness, next week.
Nakamura was thrilled to learn about the match as well as digest his first RKO out of nowhere while Smackdown was closed. He reacted on twitter in a positive note about the upcoming which intends to win in order to get another opportunity to the WWE Championship.
