Last night’s Smackdown went off the air with bombshell announcement by Smackdown General Manager, Daniel Bryan. Shane McMahon was announced as the fifth participant to compete in the Survivor Series match on behalf of Smackdown. Baron Corbin suffered an injury at the hands of Kalisto and was withdrawn from the Survivor Series PPV.
This blockbuster announcement completely changed the dynamic of the Survivor Series PPV because the Smackdown commissioner can bring a lot to the table. The only concern is that he competed at Wrestlemania 32 against the Undertaker. So, if we don’t know for sure if he is really ready to go as a competitor.
Daniel Bryan was asked about the same by Renee Young on the Talking Smack show. But, Bryan could not deliver a concrete answer to it. He only said he believes that Shane is ready to go.

Apart from this one, the blue brand is bringing back the Rated R Superstar, Edge to his home turf, next week. The 11-time World Champion will host a special edition of Cutting Edge on the 900th episode of Smackdown. The guest on the show will be none other than Shane McMahon. This is what WWE.com had to offer regarding this:
“WWE Hall of Famer and SmackDown LIVE legend Edge will return to Team Blue for the 900th episode to host his always memorable talk show, “The Cutting Edge.” SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon announced that his guest on Twitter would be none other than … Shane McMahon himself!”

Edge has been the torch bearer for the Smackdown brand for better part of his career. So he will be a great inspiration to the Smackdown locker room just ahead of the Survivor Series PPV. As announced earlier, The Undertaker will also return on the episode, next week.
