WWE News: Emma Revealed Cody Rhodes Helped her After Leaving WWE
Emma had a WWE run continuing for almost five years. Her contemporaries like Paige and more were able to cement themselves as strong competitors.
However, the complete opposite happened to her. She continued to get demoted on the roster.
It’s not the fault of Emma, entirely. She did have a huge fan following. Plus, she was no less talented wrestler than Paige, Alexa Bliss or the four-horsewomen ladies. But, for whatever reasons, the officials never used her correctly. As a result, WWE released her of the contract in late 2017.
It was shocking news for the fans. Emma wrestled on two consecutive nights the same week she had to depart. So, nobody knew anything about the release. It seemed disrespectful to many. Emma continued to prove her talent as a wrestler under the banner of ROH.
Currently, she signed a contract with the company under her real-name Tenille Dashwood. In a recent interview with TV Insider, Emma revealed Cody Rhodes inspired her the most after her release. This man suffered the same fate in 2016. But, he set an example by making a name for himself after getting the release.
As per Cody, Emma got the chance of living her life. So, she should take things, positively after WWE. The biggest pro-wrestling promotion does not give a wrestler, his/her freedom. But, as an independent star, she can come up with more creativity just like Cody, himself.
It is what Cody advised the former WWE star, (courtesy stillrealtous.com),
“With WWE you don’t always get to do things the way you like to do them, so now he said to remember that I’m in control and can do things my way. To be doing things for a reason and to wrestle around the world. And not to do it for the job, but to do it because you love and enjoy it and travel and meet people and wrestle. It was to remember all that.”
Emma did not seem to have any bad blood with the WWE after leaving. Continuing in the interview, she claimed to be in touch with the IIconics, i.e. Billie Kay and Peyton Royce. These two have debuted on the main roster following Wrestlemania. So, Emma seemed excited for her former buddies,
“We always catch up. We stay in contact. They come over to my house, and we go into the hot tub. We’re good friends. I’m so excited for them. Seeing them really warms my heart doing what they love. I know what it feels like to have those big moments and that feeling. So, I’m happy for them.”
