WWE News: Fans Disappointed With Nakamura Debut Match At Backlash
After shifting Shinsuke Nakamura to the main roster from NXT, WWE wanted to give him a perfect debut.
For this reason, only, he did not compete on Smackdown for six long weeks. The show-runners announced that he will officially make his in-ring debut at the Backlash PPV against Dolph Ziggler.
The match did turn out to be a good one since both of them are considered as in-ring veterans. But, there was a major portion of the crowd who was not happy with the quality of the match. They might have expected something much bigger for Nakamura.
Reactions from the social media were disclosed in a report from the Dirty Sheet Podcast where they declared that the match indeed turned out to be underwhelming than what was initially expected. Apparently, they were not happy after seeing the match against Ziggler.
Nakamura is known as the King of Strong Styles for a reason. He earned the name by competing around the world with his furious strikes. But, for some reasons, the Backlash match witnessed his wrestling style was toned down. This was perhaps to match up with the PG gimmick wrestling of the current WWE roster.
How disappointing was the nakamura match last night at #wwebacklash ? Had a chance to steal the show and then it was eh.

Fans were heartbroken after spotting the difference between NXT’s Nakamura to that of the main roster. WWE held back the debut of The Artist for the same reason, as well. He used to compete in the dark matches once Smackdown went off the air, for weeks.
This was to make him aware of the main roster worthy wrestling and who would be better to do that than Ziggler. In case you don’t know, the show-off has a background in amateur wrestling and a hall of fame induction to the Kent State University.
Nakamura has always delivered above the expectation. It was the key reason for his success during his NXT stint. The hardcore matches that he had with Samoa Joe made the fans to want even more from him. At this time, if WWE prevents him from doing his pendant wrestling style, then it would a disgust for the fans, for sure.
Meanwhile, he is set to compete in the Money in the Bank match for 2017 in June.
