Superstars like Melina Perez had tremendous potential to be a part of the women’s revolution. Unfortunately for her, she was part of the women’s roster in the WWE at the wrong time. So only a handful of names in the WWE Universe might remember her. But there’s no doubt that she would have been a great champion in the company if given more chances. Her stint came to an end in 2011 abruptly.

Before leaving the company, Melina Perez had already held the women’s championship for multiple occasions. Her biggest feud came against the likes of Laycool. The team of Layla and Michelle McCool were dominating the scene when Melina Perez returned to the scene to take away the Divas Championship from them.

She was under contract with the WWE from 2007 and put the locker room on notice with backstage controversies. Reports suggest Batista was seeing Melina Perez who was one of the most gifted athletes of the women’s locker room. Later the relationship came to an end, as she hooked herself up with John Morrison.

It might have created a rift among the officials and the two of them. Morrison and Melina Perez fell on the bad books of the officials and departed from the WWE. The latter one worked all around the globe for the independent scene to continue her wrestling stint. That was until she announced retirement with an official statement.

We should let you know that Melina Perez and Zellina Vega are close friends in real life. So the fans on the social media asked the former champion about a potential feud between these two. It could also bring her back into the WWE for one last stint.

Melina Perez admitted she’s indeed good friends with the current WWE superstar. But the bond between these two would not probably allow to beat up a friend like her. Furthermore, she also confirmed the fact that the people should not expect her to be in a wrestling match ever again. Here are her comments, (transcriptions by SportsKeeda.com),

“You’ve got me thinking but, I’m not coming back to wrestling guys. No. Stop making me think about this stuff.”
“I don’t want to (return to pro-wrestling). I’ve got happier stuff, you know? I accept that my time has come and gone, I’m secure with that. I’m cool with that.”

Melina Perez has dealt with a gruelling injury from 2017 onwards which might be another reason to call it a quit. There are also some fans who criticized her inability to move quickly, as she used to do in the past. The women’s wrestling has lost a bigger stat with that being said. We will see whether WWE considers her as a Hall of Famer, someday.
