As reported earlier, a big triple threat match was announced on this week’s WWE Raw. Bayley, Dana Brooke, and Mickie James will compete in the contest. The winner will get the final spot in the women’s team from Raw at the Survivor Series PPV.
Now, Bayley is the favourite one to win the contest and secure the last spot available from the flagship show. However, if the reports from PWInsider.com are to be believed, then a former Divas Champion will return to snatch the spot from her just after The Hugger wins the match.
The former champion is none other than Paige. She has been training at the WWE performance centre for the past several weeks. Now that she is over with the ring rust process, a proper storyline is needed to make her return to WWE TV. Apparently, reserving the final spot for the Survivor Series PPV might be the perfect one for the anti-Diva of the WWE.
Additional reports from cagesideseats.com suggested that just after Bayley wins the match on Raw, Paige will make her return on the show. She will challenge the winner in another match and end up winning it. Thus, Bayley will not be able to participate in the Survivor Series PPV.
It is to be noted that Paige was previously rumoured to make her comeback on the Smackdown brand. Considering that Asuka has been added to the flagship show just a few weeks ago, this was quite understandable. But, the creative team of the WWE might have changed their planning, abruptly in recent times.
As for now, this is a pure speculation since no confirmed update is available in this scenario. But, it’s a fact that Paige is patiently waiting to make her much-anticipated return to the WWE. If the earlier updates are any indications, then she can show up in any of the two brands, anytime.
The youngest Divas Champion in the WWE sidelined from in-ring competition, in 2016. She fell victim to a brutal neck concussion that forced her to undergo surgery. It was the main reason as of why we have not seen her, till date. But, we might not have to wait a long time to see her comeback.
