WWE News: Former WWE Diva Mickie James returning to the WWE 1

The next big stop for the WWE NXT division will be the next edition of the NXT Takeover: Toronto. WWE has made a ritual of hosting a special edition of NXT prior to every big PPV of the year and there will be no exception before Survivor Series. NXT is already hyping up the event from now onwards and in the midst of which we have received some breaking news.
The NXT General Manager, William Regal named the next challenger for the NXT Women’s champion, Asuka at the NXT Takeover from Toronto and it is none other than the former WWE Women’s champion, Mickie James. As soon as the announcement came from regal, WWE confirmed the same on their official Twitter handle:

Mickie James herself tweeted the following to let the world know the big announcement.

It will be after six long years that Mickie James will be returning to her former employer. The last time she was seen competing inside a WWE ring was after the 26th edition of Wrestlemania in the year 2010. She teamed up with Beth Phoenix against the team of Layla and Michelle McCool, then known as Laycool on Friday Night Smackdown.
James had a successful stint as a women’s wrestler in the WWE. She debuted as a fan of now Hall of Famer, Trish Stratus. This storyline has led them into a feud which culminated at the Wrestlemania 22. This was a classic women’s championship match where James defeated the most decorated Diva in WWE to win the Women’s championship. She had a couple of title run and rumored relationship with John Cena before leaving WWE.
After parting ways, she joined TNA wrestling and became a three-time TNA Knockouts Champion there. She had a run in the independent circuit, as well. She is now married to the TNA performer Nick Aldis better known as Magnus. In the time of women’s revolution, the presence of this veteran Diva in WWE will certainly benefit both the parties.
