WWE News: Gail Kim Responds On Stephanie McMahon Controversy And A Possible WWE Return
Recently, while promoting Wrestlemania 33 event, WWE COO, Stephanie McMahon was asked about the ongoing Women’s Revolution. She credited her husband Triple H and Vince McMahon for handing the female superstars, the opportunity that they are getting today.
But, a veteran female performer and the former WWE Women’s champion, Gail Kim opposed the idea. She posted on her twitter handle claiming that TNA promotion aka the Impact Wrestling had started this movement a long ago.

Back in this decade, the promotion had come up with the innovative matches for the women. Performers like Gail Kim capitalised on the chances and showed their skills inside the squared circle.
Recently, Gail Kim appeared on the Busted Open Radio where she addressed the controversy. She stated that despite what Triple H has done for the women in the WWE, we should not forget that the original idea was of the TNA creative. Check out her full statement here:
“When I saw that (Stephanie’s tweet) it’s kind of frustrating because, yes, I feel Hunter (Triple H) did do a lot for women in NXT…They (Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Bayley) did revolutionise Women’s Wrestling by using the power of social media.
But before that, the ‘Evolution’ of Women’s Wrestling came from Impact Wrestling/TNA…Charlotte, Sasha, Becky and Bayley they’ve pretty much put their mark on the business. I support those girls a hundred percent, a million percent. Those girls are doing what I wanted to do back then.”
Gail was part of the WWE roster since 2010 after which she signed with the TNA wrestling promotion. She became an all-time great not only there but in the entire pro-wrestling business by becoming a six-time knockout champion.
Now that she is done with TNA, a chance of performing again in the WWE is likely. Speaking of which she specifically took Charlotte’s name whom she wants to face upon the return. Here’s what she stated:
“Charlotte Flair (stands out to me)…the way she’s progressed over the years, in her confidence, her gear everything, she’s now the complete package. And mind you because we’re in a business, we hear about people and their work-ethic, their personalities- whether they’re well-liked and respected, and that plays a factor into everything…Really good girl.
You know she’s got hard shoes to fill. The people who come as (children of) successful second generation wrestlers, it’s just hard for them to fill those shoes…And she (Charlotte) has done an awesome job. I mean that would be a dream match for me.”
