WWE News: Goldberg To Defeat Kevin Owens In A Squash Match

In a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the outcome of the main event of the Fastlane PPV. He said that Goldberg will be getting another squash match in his favour to reign supreme on the current champion. He will be defeating KO in a handful of time to take away the Universal championship from him which he is holding since the month of August.
WWE creative is planning another short match for the Myth much similar to the Survivor Series main event. On that night, Goldberg defeated Brock Lesnar in a record time of just 1 minute and 26 seconds. This time too, the match is not supposed to last longer than ten minutes.
The fans of Owens might complain against this finish. The universe is already complaining about the championship reign of KO in which he is being portrayed as the cowardly heel champion for most of the part. The man who was a dominant heel prior to becoming champion has been able to defend his title every time someone did interfere in it. Jericho’s involvement has belittled his credibility, a lot.
Goldberg will be the ultimate gainer in this booking since his dominant run will continue after coming back to the WWE. This will help him to enter the biggest stage of them all with the prime gold around his shoulder. However, his title run will not continue as he is set to lose it to Brock Lesnar at the same night of Wrestlemania.
Furthermore, there’s literally no point of crowning Goldberg with the title letting Owens drop it since he will also lose the bout against Lesnar. Just because Vince McMahon did not want both Owens and Styles not to remain champions heading into Wrestlemania, they have to drop it. Styles lost it to Cena at the Rumble event whereas Owens will be losing it to Goldberg at Fastlane.
