WWE News: Heel-Turn Planned for Ronda Rousey vs Nia Jax Match 1

Ronda Rousey received a surprise title shot at Money in the Bank PPV event. Before this, she had only competed in one tag team match at Wrestlemania 34.

It is shocking to see her getting a championship match even if she did not have a singles match, yet. Some might say the ‘Brock Lesnar-mode’ is on for her.

The fans believed Ronda Rousey would get the same treatment, as the beast incarnate, from the get-go. The company will make her the biggest box-office attraction like Lesnar from the women’s roster. But, we need to keep in mind that this might create a negative impact on the fans too.

There are more deserving superstars on the roster rather than Ronda Rousey. She did not even have to qualify to challenge Nia Jax for the opportunity.

Keeping this in mind, the storyline should approach in a way where she can keep her babyface persona. She is getting a standing ovation from the crowd, ever since Wrestlemania.

A good storyline perspective is the main reason behind this. A similar angle will be in-store in the Money in the Bank PPV event to keep things positive for her. Going by the recent reports from Wrestling Observer Newsletter, shocking heel-turn will happen at MITB.

It will be Ronda’s opponent who will turn into a villain, quite expectedly. The main problem of the Nia Jax vs Ronda Rousey match is that both these ladies are heel superstars. They can’t deliver a good match unless both the names are quite heavy draws on the card. A heel-turn is definitely needed, to ensure an impactful match.

Plus, the report also suggests Stephanie McMahon might enter the scenario, as well, (courtesy stillrealtous.com),

“In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it’s speculated that WWE could solve this problem by turning Nia Jax heel and aligning her with Stephanie McMahon. One idea could see Rousey get close to winning the title, only for McMahon to screw her out of a victory.”

It would be good for Nia Jax, as well. Till date, she failed to deliver an impactful babyface character. Also, the feud between Ronda Rousey and Stephanie McMahon is likely to continue. Rousey almost ripped the arm of McMahon’s socket, last time. So, she will seek the redemption, at one point.
