The connection between Stephen Amell and the WWE is not something new. In the year 2015, he appeared in WWE to have an altercation with the heel persona of Cody Rhodes, Stardust.
The segment was much appreciated by the fans and he was booked for a full-fledged rivalry with him. This led to a match at that year’s Summerslam. The team of Amell and Neville took on the team of Wade Barrett and Stardust.
Both the parties were benefitted with this participation. WWE has been able to make their product’s promotion in the mainstream Hollywood industry, whereas, Amell promoted his Arrow TV series to the live audience. He is the face of the DC Comic series for quite a long time.
Following it, Stephen Amell got the company of another WWE superstar, Sheamus in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, last year. The movie turned out to be a bigger success for both of them and this might be the reason that the Arrow star is looking forward to returning to the WWE, again.
As reported by ComicBook.com, Stephen Amell was present in the Heroes and Villains Fan Fest in London, England. He was asked about whether he intends to return to the WWE ever again. In return, he stated that he would love to do something with wrestling in the near future.
Amell was said to be extremely nervous during his in-ring debut at Summerslam 2015. But, he pulled off some incredible moves in that match that have certainly wiped out the fears. So, he would not mind going back to the squared circle, once more. Check out his statements here:
“I would love to do something with wrestling again. I don’t know what that’s going to be. I think being with WWE would be really cool. I think that Cody who I worked with is doing such great stuff with Ring of Honour and New Japan. That would be cool. Um, but I need to get back to the ring one more time.”
The rivalry between Stardust and Amell turned out to be one of the best rivalries of 2015. Hence, the Hollywood star even wanted to go back for a rematch with Cody at the ROH promotion considering that he is out of the WWE now.
